Abstract:
This paper gives an overview of the existing models and examples of regional and international higher education
quality assurance arrangements. In the case of regional quality assurance arrangements, whilst acknowledging that these exist
in all continents, the authors deliberately and specifically provide examples on developments in Africa. Although no particular
model is proposed, the authors recommend that, by adopting good practices from the different models, it is possible to foster
greater international cooperation as a way of responding to the regulatory demands of globalisation.
